DIVA - Dementia Information Van from Away

WHAT IS DIVA?
OCTEC Incorporated, working in partnership with Uniting Care Western Region, developed a pilot project to provide information for people with dementia and their carers in rural and remote communities.
The project took a custom fitted van, including friendly and expert staff, free information products and satellite telephone and internet connection, to provide a dementia information and assistance service to towns in the Central West and Orana Far West of New South Wales.
Services provided include:
* One-to-one meetings and information sessions where there are a number of people to be addressed.
* Addressing of local community groups.
* Displays of printed and electronic information.
* Handouts and brochures with service provider information.
* Instructive video displays.
* A link to the internet so that information, forms and assistance applications can be obtained online.
