Nar-Anon Family Groups are self-help support groups for families and friends of compulsive drug users. Members meet anonymously to gain an understanding
of the user's behaviour and how to cope with it.
Nar-Anon Family Groups Meetings
If there is no Nar-Anon meeting in your area, please consider starting one - it is not as hard as you might think. Two or more people can start a meeting. It is surprising how quickly it will grow. All you really need is a venue. Church halls, community health centres and hospitals are good places to start looking. Private homes are not appropriate, mainly because of the issue of anonymity. If you are considering a community health centre or hospital, talk to the Drug & Alcohol Counsellor there - they will usually be only too pleased to have a meeting they can refer the families and loved ones of their clients to, and will support you as much as they can. The Area Office can provide you with advice, support and everything you will need to get started. See contact details below.
